I am so excited for this Christmas season. Beau, Lilly and Marlee are more aware and knowledgeable, so that it just makes life so fun. It’s like experiencing Christmas for the first time. They L-O-V-E looking at Christmas lights, singing jingle bells or watching Rudolph (just don’t ask them to sit with Santa). We plan to pack a lot into this holiday season…since it is just so much fun.
Today started a new tradition in our family. I recently purchased a wooden advent calendar, it is made of wood and has little doors that open up for each day. My hope is that we use this to count down to Christmas for many years to come.
This morning we opened door one and found a Hershey's kiss.
Another blogger, Jordan Ferney (a personal fav), inspired me to also have a living advent calendar. She plans to do something Christmas everyday until Christmas. Some days it might be big like a parade and others small like singing a few songs or having hot chocolate. I’m going to try this for our family too.
Day One – Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
Today we went with our neighbors to see Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer at a local theatre. It was AMAZING! My kids loved it and sat quietly for an hour of live performing arts. You might also notice the kid’s Rudolph shirts are their own hands and foot. They love these Christmas shirts and you’ll probably see them in upcoming Christmas pictures.
A big thanks to our dad for his work on Christmas lights. The kids love seeing them and he has spent lots of weekend time getting them set-up.
Merry Christmas!
